Getting Comfortable with Computers

Many people think:

“Computers are difficult.”

“What if I break something?”

“What if I press the wrong button?”

These feelings are normal.

Every person who uses a computer today once started as a beginner.

Computers are tools that become easier through practice.

What Is a Computer?

A computer is a tool that helps people:

  • Store files
  • Create documents
  • Search for information
  • Communicate
  • Learn new things

Computers help us work, learn, create, and solve problems.

Screen (Monitor)

Displays information.

Keyboard

Used for typing.

Mouse

Used for clicking and selecting.

Power Button

Turns the computer on or off.

Speakers

Play sound.

USB Ports

Connect devices.
